Membership Development & Marketing Initiative

Project Overview

Montana Lions District seeks proposals from qualified consultants or agencies to lead membership recruitment, retention, and new club formation efforts, with particular emphasis on expansion in the Flathead Lake/Kalispell area. The selected contractor will work closely with the Membership and Marketing Committee to achieve ambitious yet attainable growth objectives.

Scope of Work

  1. Membership Growth and Club Formation

    • Recruit at least 40 new members through targeted initiatives, resulting in the establishment of 8 new branches or 2 new clubs.
    • Achieve a net membership gain of +10 members overall
  2. Geographic Focus

    • Prioritize growth efforts in the Flathead Lake/Kalispell area, identifying strategic opportunities for club and membership expansion.
  3. Marketing and Outreach

    • Develop and execute a robust multimedia marketing plan, including social media engagement, traditional media, community outreach, and digital campaigns.
    • Create compelling messaging to attract diverse and community-oriented individuals aligned with Lions International values and objectives.
  4. Communication and Oversight

The selected consultant will report directly to the District 37 Membership and Marketing Committee and will maintain open lines of communication with the District Governor and Cabinet. The consultant is expected to:

  • Provide quarterly written reports summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations. These reports will be submitted ahead of each scheduled Cabinet meeting (January, April, July, and October).
  • Participate in scheduled virtual or in-person check-ins with the Membership and Marketing Committee to review progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Remain responsive to reasonable requests for updates, data, or insights from the District Governor, Cabinet, or relevant committee members.

Collaborate in a spirit of partnership, ensuring alignment with Lions Clubs International values, branding, and strategic priorities.

Contract Term and Renewal Option

  • The initial contract term will be one year, with the option for mutual renewal for an additional year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and District Cabinetdistrict approval.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in nonprofit or membership organization growth initiatives.
    Proven ability to establish new organizational branches or clubs effectively.
  • Preference given to candidates who are current Lions Club members or who have a deep understanding of Lions International culture and practices. Non-members must demonstrate willingness to undergo training regarding Guiding Lions.
    Multimedia marketing expertise, especially proficiency with social media platforms, digital content creation, and community engagement strategies.

Compensation

  • This initiative is budgeted at a fixed rate of $50,000 for the year, inclusive of all services outlined in this proposal.

  • Comprehensive proposal outlining strategy, methods, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Examples of previous relevant work.
  • At least three references from similar projects.

Evaluation and Selection Proposals will be evaluated based on demonstrated expertise, strategic vision, proposed methods, and understanding of Lions Clubs’ mission and values. Finalists may be requested to participate in interviews prior to selection.
