Helena Fourth of July Flag Ceremony

Centennial Park in Helena Montana was the scene of the celebration of the American flag and its history. There was a large excited crowed watching as the flag was delivered by a DNRC helicopter. A Scout troop carried the flag from the helicopter to the flagpole and helped slowly to raise the flag as the history of the flag was told.

The Helena Lions Club with assistance from the Gold Rush Lions club arrived early with our mobile kitchen. BoarsHead donated hotdogs and Franz donated buns through Safeway. We cooked the hotdogs from 9:00am until 12:30pm. As each batch of hotdogs were cooked, they were placed in buns, wrapped in foil and placed in coolers to keep them warm.

At 12:30PM, we started giving the 1,200 hotdogs away. Within 15 minutes they were all handed out.
