Helena Gold Rush 40th Anniversary

On January 27th, Helena Gold Rush celebrated their 40th anniversary of service.

Attendees included two charter members, several previous members, the District 1st Vice and 2nd Vice along with many current members and guests.

Time was spent re-living and sharing memories, looking through many pictures, and enjoying the company of everyone in attendance!

Christmas Caroling

On December 12, 2023, eight members of the Hamilton MT Lions Club were joined by friends and family to brighten the holiday season for residents at five local assisted living homes. The group was accompanied by a guitar player to add to the enjoyment. The Club visits these facilities every December to bring some holiday cheer and to encourage them to join in with their smiles and voices.

Potato Harvest!!

The Whitefish Lions Club harvested their last bit of produce from our organic garden this week.  We pulled up hundreds of pounds of yellow and purple potatoes as well as squash, zucchini and even some remaining tomatoes.  This garden was a huge success, providing hundreds of pounds of fresh, organic produce to our local food banks and land to hand programs.  The final step will be tilling the land and preparing the site for winter.  We are already getting ideas for next years garden and look forward to sharing it with the community.

GLENDIVE LIONS LAUNCH LOCAL GRANT PROGRAM

The Glendive Lions Club is excited to announce the continuation of its grant for the Glendive Community. Years ago, the Lions established a foundation and every year they invested a small portion of their fundraising money and personal donations into the foundation. The foundation has grown to the point where the Lions are now able to use some of the dividends to fund local needs and projects.

The Lions are inviting applications for the funding from community “not for profit” and 501(c)(3) organizations whose needs fit within one of three categories: 1) Community Health; 2) Local Needs, and 3) Local Youth Programs.

Approximately $6,600 is available for grants this year according to Lion President Jason Stuart. Stuart added, “the Glendive Community has supported the Lions Club in our fundraising efforts over the years and we are excited to return that support in the form of these grants.”

Under the guidance of Lion Member and Investment Advisor Representative, Melonie Beeler of Cetera Wealth Partners, the Foundation has consistently grown year after year. “For 19 years the Glendive Lions Club members have been actively involved in the analysis of their investment portfolio making regular contributions based on long term strategy. Their fiduciary dedication to build the endowment for the benefit of our community has been collaborative heroism,” Beeler said in response to her involvement with the Lions Club Foundation.

Applications can be picked up at the Glendive Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture at 808 N. Merrill Ave., or from Cetera in the C&J Building, 135 Highway 16, Building C, Glendive. Completed grant applications should be mailed to PO Box 366, Glendive, MT 59330. Grant applications must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2023. Anyone with grant questions can contact Jerry Frank at 406-989-1037.

Whitefish Lions Refurbishes Welcome to Whitefish Sign

The Whitefish Lions Club has restored the old “Welcome to Whitefish” sign that is located near the old North Valley Hospital.  You will now see the new sign in bright Bulldog colors as you head north on Hwy 93.  Big shout out to Hal and Ed for their woodworking skills in making this happen!
