Sidney Lions May Service

The week of May 11 was a full week of service for Sidney Lions.  We started out by giving away three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors.

On to help serve lunch for Boys and Girls Club of Richland County.  Sidney Lions Track meet attracted more than 100 students, where they got to participate in track and field events of running, high jump, long jump, and softball throw, with lots of help from our Leos Club.

Billings Heights Donates Defibrillator

The Billings Heights Lions were doing Plus Optix screening at the Canyon Creek School located between Billings and Laurel.  They were asked if the club could help with the purchase a defibrillator for their school as they did not have the funds in their budget. The school nurse said she would purchase a unit herself if no aid was available. The Billings Heights Lions decided that their club could purchase a refurbished unit for about $750.

The school nurse purchased a two-year service contract through a donation to the club’s foundation. This unit is capable of youth and adult usage and was delivered May 5th at 1:00pm.
